No option but to impose ‘travel ban’ to stop Kovid-19: China

BEIJING:  China on Tuesday said it has “no choice” but to take measures such as travel restrictions to contain the spread of COVID-19. China reacted to the demonstration of Indian students in front of the Chinese Embassy in New Delhi. These students want to return to China to continue their studies. China’s response has come at a time when there have been some reports from New Delhi that students pursuing medical studies demonstrated in front of the Chinese embassy on Monday, demanding Beijing to allow them to return to the country for studies.

‘No option but to ban’

When asked for her reaction about the performance of Indian students in Delhi, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying said, “Corona virus infection is still spreading rapidly in many parts of the world.” Therefore, in this context, the Chinese government has no option but to impose travel restrictions. He said that according to the situation, China is taking any steps in view of the safety and health of its citizens and foreign travelers. Chunying said, ‘I want to emphasize that the prevention and control measures in China are applied to all incoming travelers, including citizens of the country.’

Thousands were unable to be Indian students in China
last week,  Chinese  Ambassador to Vikram Misri was saying criticism of China’s longest stringent travel restrictions, “we face in the current Indian students, traders, marine crew and exporters Disappointed to see unscientific approach to many of the problems being faced. Hundreds of businessmen, employees and their families have not been able to move from India to China since last year, apart from more than 23,000 Indian students studying in Chinese colleges. Many people lost their jobs as a result of the restrictions and some were even separated from their families.
